Pictured is this year's quilt that will be raffled at the Washington Parish Free Fair.  The queen-size quilt called "Country Love" was begun during the 2008 fair by volunteer quilters who quilted it in the Sylvest Cabin at Mile Branch Historical Settlement.  It was finished during the year.  Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and may be purchased in advance from Marguerite Lipani at 839-4410.  Tickets are sold during the fair on the back porch of the Sylvest Cabin.  Drawing for the winning ticket is Saturday, October 24 at 8:00 p.m.

Volunteer quilters this year will begin work on the 2010 raffle quilt called "Dahlias on the Court House Steps."  If any quilters would like to volunteer time to work on the quilt during the fair, please contact Sue Macias at 839-5650 or Sandy Miller at 839-3229.
